Early Treatment

When is the best time to begin your orthodontic treatment?

An Orthodontist can enhance a smile at any age, however there is an optimal time period to begin treatment. Beginning treatment at this time ensures the greatest result and the least amount of time and expense. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that the initial orthodontic evaluation should occur at the first sign of orthodontic problems or no later than age 7. At this early age, orthodontic treatment may not be necessary, but vigilant examination can anticipate the most advantageous time to begin treatment.

What are the benefits of early orthodontic evaluation?

An early evaluation provides both timely detection of problems and greater opportunity for more effective treatment. Prudent intervention guides growth and development, preventing serious problems later and saving a more costly treatment in the future. When orthodontic intervention is not necessary, an orthodontist can carefully monitor growth and development and begin treatment when it is ideal.

Why is age 7 considered the optimal time for screening?

First, let’s start this answer with this: “At this early age, orthodontic treatment may not be necessary”. Now that we clarify that, by the age of 7, the first adult molars erupt, establishing the back bite. During this time, an orthodontist can evaluate front-to-back and side-to-side tooth relationships. For example, the presence of erupting incisors can indicate possible overbite, open bite, crowding or gummy smiles. Timely screening increases the chances for an incredible smile.

What are the advantages of interceptive treatment?

Some of the most direct results of interceptive treatment are:

• Creating room for crowded, erupting teeth
• Creating facial symmetry through influencing jaw growth
• Reducing the risk of trauma to protruding front teeth
• Preserving space for unerupted teeth
• Reducing the need for tooth removal
• Reducing treatment time with braces

Adult Treatment

Braces aren’t for kids only anymore! Tooth alignment can be changed at any age if your bone structure and gums are healthy. We offer a variety of treatments and very affordable plans that are designed for different age groups – including adults. We don’t use the same treatment and technique on adults as kids, each stage is different and must be treated accordingly. A NEW SMILE CAN BEGIN TODAY!

Orthodontic treatment at later stages in life can dramatically improve your personal appearance and self-esteem. Improving the health of your teeth and gums is equally important. Crooked teeth and a bad bite can contribute to gum and bone loss, tooth decay, abnormal wear of the tooth enamel and surfaces, headaches and jaw joint (TMJ/TMD) pain.

Good news! The new techniques and appliances we use greatly reduce discomfort levels, decrease the frequency of visits, shorten treatment time and may allow you to choose from several options. Your options may include metal braces, translucent braces or transparent aligners that can be worn at night to improve mild cases of misaligned teeth.

Types of Braces

Metal Braces

Metal braces are the most common type of braces. With the improvement of technology, this type of braces are more comfortable to wear than ever before. Made of a high noble stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and arch wires. You can also make it a very cool experience, adding your favorite color on elastics or rubber bands.

Ceramic Braces

If you have cosmetic concerns and can’t afford or don’t qualify for Invisalign, Ceramic Braces are the best option for you. Ceramic Braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. Although they are less visible than the metal braces, they do require more detail attention to oral hygiene as ceramic braces are larger and are more brittle than their metal counterparts. For these reasons, ceramic braces tend to be used more on upper front teeth than on lower teeth.

Invisible Invisalign®

The name says it all, invisible braces. However it is not the only factor, Invisalign are confortable and handy since they are removable, meaning that you can eat and drink while still on treatment. It also makes hygene a little less complicated. Feel free to click on our invisalign service tab for more information.

Clear Ceramic Braces:Just as with metal braces, clear ceramic braces are attached to each tooth and then connected with a wire. This system is successful in treating all kinds of tooth misalignment.

If you are looking to receive the braces procedure but with a lighter look, ceramic clear braces could be an option for you!

Dental braces are devices that align and straighten teeth and help to position them with regard to a person’s bite, while also working to improve your dental health. They are used to correct under bites, as well as overbites, cross bites, open bites, deep bites, malocclusions, crooked teeth, and various other flaws of the teeth and jaw. Braces can be either cosmetic or structural. Dental braces are often used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances to help widen the palate or jaws and to otherwise assist in shaping the teeth and jaws.
